The Extended School Program, staffed by St. Paul’s faculty, provides after-school care for students in the Lower School. Early ESP is structured into two (2), 30 minute blocks, Study Hall and Outdoor/Indoor Playtime. During Study Hall Students are given the opportunity to finish homework, color or read quietly. Families using the program will register on a trimester basis. Early ESP has an option to register on a yearly basis, and the Program offers daily drop-in service.
Additionally, we offer a variety of different workshops during the first hour of ESP. These workshops run at an additional cost and require pre-registration.
After School workshops include, but are not limited to:
Chess Club, Comic Club, Clay Club, Flag-Football, Karate, Lego Robotics, Soccer, and Yoga!
Single day care is available on a drop-in basis when requested in writing the morning of the drop-in day. These requests are to be given to the homeroom teacher by the students the day of the drop-in. This information is then sent to the office to be put on the daily attendance sheet, which automatically notifies ESP. Drop-in charges begin at 4:35 p.m.

Beginning in fall 2020, our extended day offering will include new, structured programming designed to support academic, physical, and creative adventuring. We also will have clubhouse activities for children more interested in hanging out with friends and participating in small-group activities, including art projects, story time, board games, and free play. While we will begin to pilot a few concepts and programs during the 2019-20 ESP cycle, the new programs will not take effect until fall 2020.
To support these broader offerings, we will need to change the structure of our ESP program after next year. Starting in fall 2020, free childcare will be available until 4:00 p.m., with the formal ESP program beginning at 4:00 p.m. We envision students being able to select from two program blocks per day, with a snack break and recess between the sessions. We will share further developments over the next school year.
